Lynn Ripley and LaTonya Edmeade became HGF volunteers "after hearing Val speak of the great courage the children have fighting for their lives on the BMTU," LaTonya says. She and Lynn are members of Texas Business Travel Association, a longtime HGF supporter. "Seeing the smile that a coffee, tea, and meal brings to the families is my favorite part of volunteering," LaTonya told us. "Every time I volunteer, I leave the hospital filled with joy." Lynn and LaTonya have served at HGF events on the BMTU—like the Valentine celebration pictured here—and off-site—like our golf tournaments and luncheons. We're so thankful for their faithful service!

In 2017, His Grace Foundation had the honor of giving a college scholarship to former bone marrow transplant patient Matthew Hogan through the His Grace Foundation Holly A. Hardy Educational Support and Scholarship Fund. We recently had the joy of catching up with Matt about his experience in college thus far and his hopes for the future, and here's what he'd like to share with you! "College is going fantastic. I am now a biomedical science major, and I love the course work, I think in part because of my personal experience with medicine. Also, I have been getting more and more involved in the local church in College Station which has been the highlight of my whole college experience so far, just getting to grow closer to God and serve others in such an awesome community. A&M has been such a great place to live and learn and ultimately earn my degree from; also how about that Aggie football! After college, I am very excited for how I will get to use all that I have learned, to be of benefit to my local community and hopefully the world at large, by pursuing a career in public health [...]

We are heartbroken to share with you that Gracie Kiltz, the inspiration and namesake of His Grace Foundation, passed away on September 8. Our loss here on earth is profound, but we know Gracie is dancing with Jesus in heaven. All who knew Gracie are invited to a Celebration of Life service at Georgetown Church of Christ on September 22, followed by a reception and dance party at the Sheraton Georgetown. A time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to DANCE. ~ Ecclesiastes 3:4 If you'd like to read more about Gracie's life, including the chapters that led to the birth of His Grace Foundation, we invite you to read her story here. here
