Our Programs and Services

Supporting Bone Marrow Transplant patients in their
greatest moment of need since 1997.

His Grace Foundation eases the multitude of stressors faced by families with children on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (BMTU) of Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH).

The services we provide are designed to be “grace in the need of the moment”, allowing families to focus on supporting their child during the crucial treatment and recovery period.

Here are some the ways we give grace:

  • Greeting new patients and families on the unit with an HGF – Patient Welcome Basket personalized according to a patient’s interest with toys and other necessities to uplift them and their family/caregivers during their first inpatient stay on the BMTU.

  • Parking Assistance (for patient’s families during their in-patient stay on the BMTU, out-patient clinic visits and during any emergency re-admittances).

  • Weekly meals to refresh and encourage families during their lengthy hospital stay.

  • Educational Enrichment Celebrations (special activities and events throughout the year for both in-patient and long-term survivors).

  • Providing engaging equipment, games, and toys for media and play rooms.

  • Donation Day: Amazon Prime Day (Books, Toys and School Supplies).

  • Sibling Support (Personalized gifts for children/siblings who have been left at home during the treatment period).

  • Hospital Staff Appreciation (5 meals/year and monthly goodies and treats).

  • Five post-transplant homes for patients and families outside the greater Houston area free during the 100-day period following treatment in which they must remain close to the hospital.

  • His Grace Foundation supports the academic pursuits of current and past BMTU patients through educational supplies and scholarships for college-age young people.

  • Emergency financial assistance for critical expenses through our Families in Need fund. We work with Texas Children’s Hospital social workers to identify true need and provide funding for housing, utilities, transportation, medical supplies, food and clothing.

  • Clinic Hospitality (Snacks and coffee on the 8th Floor BMTU Family Room and the 7th Floor Unit).

  • Bereavement Support (Funeral, Cremation & Burial Assistance).
